A small town theater. Over priced and no stadium seating. Sound wasn't too bad but picture sucked
Theater is old and outdated. It is normally dirty. Some of the theaters are small and cramped with poor sound quality. You can often hear the movie in the theater next door.
I can't overstate how bad this theater is... seriously I've only scratched the surface here. Don't waste your money.
I have not been back since and if a movie I want to see is only playing here, I'll either not see it in theaters or I'll drive to Dallas.
On Sept 9 saw Sully and was completely surprised by how theatre had improved. Reminded my of years ago when it was best around. Air conditioning was working perfect, lobby and restrooms clean. Can't wait to go back!
But! Assuming you're alone you can sit right at the front, against the aisle so that you're roughly centered on the screen. But then you can hear every car in the parking lot through the exit door that's beside the screen and not soundproof at all.
Also, since we were alone, we took the time to roughly measure the screen. It's about 25ft wide and about 15ft tall. Puny by theater standards. And it's offset to one side of the theater. Again, see the picture. I can't make this stuff up.
The theater has a very bad dirty diaper or sewage smell throughout. The screen we were watching on had very visible scratches on it and made the picture look bad. The sound wasn't on for most of the previews and kept cutting off. Then it would be very quiet or too loud and out of sync. Then during the movie the sound levels would vary between the voices sounding too high pitched or too deep. It wasn't out of sync too bad during the movie but at times it was noticeable.
We read all the reviews, but I kept saying "Oh, come on... it CAN'T be THAT bad!"
This theater is horrible. It has recently been purchased by AMC so hopefully things will get better. The last time I went to a movie here it was The Hobbit - Battle of Five Armies. I only went because it was the closest theater showing it.
Read on, because it is. It is that bad. Maybe worse.
I emailed the manager at the time about my complaints and the response was that the movie was too new and used different technology but they have all the sound issues worked out now.
That is, you could hear the cars outside of you can sort it out of the noise from the theater next to you, which is separated from your theater by a standard interior 2x4 wall. It's a 2x4 frame, 2 sheets of drywall, and some window curtains hung to try and dampen the sound of a MOVIE THEATER. I had just watched Fate of the Furious about a week before this movie and I could clearly tell which scene they were on through the wall while trying to watch my movie. Somewhere in all of THAT noise is the sound of YOUR movie, and if you can listen carefully you can almost hear it.
It was the only theater showing the particular movie I wanted to see, so we went anyway. Tickets were about $10 each, but the lobby should have been the giveaway. We continued to the theater to find that there really AREN'T stadium seats. See the picture. If the person in front of you is 6 inches taller than you, then you can't see the screen. Lucky us, we were alone.
Oh yeah, and it smelled like urine. Like human urine, and dirty feet.
The carpet is very old and stained in the lobby and hallways. Looks like it has never been cleaned and is in need of replacing. The floor in the seating area was very sticky and there was popcorn everywhere like it hadn't been cleaned.
