They did have help wanted signs up, so perhaps the lady was new, but she didn't know how to prepare one of the menu items.
Fairly clean with charming decor. The soap opera on the TV didn't fit with the ambiance.
The meat was delicious. The prices wouldn't make your nose bleed, but a tad on the high side. Service was about on par with McDonald's.
I scheduled an online order to be picked up in 30 minutes. When I arrived to Dickey's my order wasn't started, the employee behind the counter didn't even know where the ticket for my order was so that he could start making it. He called another employee over and she helped to get the order started although she didn't know how some of my order was made. She also stated that she was new. After a 15 minute wait I was out the door with my order. I should also mention that I was the only customer the whole time I was there. It wasn't until I got home that I realized the 6 rolls that go with the family pack that I ordered were not in the bag.
If the new owner can keep this up, we'll definitely be coming back. I urge anyone who has previously gone and had a bad experience to try it again - you might be pleasantly surprised.
I would go back for the meat, and I'd recommend it to friends. It was a beer away from four stars.
Online orders should be a good and easy experience for the customer. I really hope that Dickey's Barbecue Pit takes more time to train their new employees.

Good place not busy
I used to only go here between paychecks when we couldn't afford to go to Rib Crib, Rafter J's, Branding Iron, etc. Tonight was another one of those nights and we ordered our usual stuff. I got the Pulled Pork and Sausage sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad. When we go the food, it was MUCH better than we remembered it being. We also noticed the froyo machine was gone and they had a lemonade drink dispenser. While we were eating a man sitting at a table with his laptop asked how everything was. Turns out he's the new owner and this restaurant is under new management. He explained they had done some renovations to fix up the place a bit and we chat back and forth for a bit explaining the food was much better than it used to be. He thanked us for our patronage and we went on our way.
