Some have given this place bad reviews and some good. I find most lacking in detail.
This place is a real throwback to the days when there were real truck stops in about every town along the highway. There's a real restaurant with real food. Chicken fried steaks, big breakfasts, the usual.
Restaurant (with a Smokers aquarium). Very good portions. Good food. Waitresses were friendly and my cup stayed full. Their Sweet Tea leaves a lot to be desired though.
The store and chrome shop are nice. The cashiers are friendly. Some items I desire are missing, but I can't expect everything I want since it's not mine.
It took 10 minutes of me being seated for someone to take my drink order, and another 15 minutes for someone to take my food order. When the food finally arrived it wasn't what I had ordered, but being short on time I accepted it anyway. However, the food was EXTREMELY bland with no flavoring at all. The waitress never came back by to see if I needed anything else (including a refill). They were to busy standing around behind the counter talking. Would I stop here again... NO, would I recommend this place to anyone else... definitely NOT!!!
Bathrooms are large even for a fat person like me. 2 complaints here, first the door on stall 1 is out of adjustment and you have to lift the door about an inch to lock. Second, the toilet paper holder is the right hight but is too far back, I'm not double jointed.
This place is special in my heart. Spent 6 months in and out of here for Katrina duty. So glad it is still running. A TRUCK stop that treats truckers right! Good hot food 24 hrs a day, great waitresses, remodeled...yet feels like home. Love this place!!
Yeah...it's a little run down, but it's been there a while. It's a nice change from all the Flying J's and Loves trucks stops with their fast food.
Really nice place. Great people who are all friendly and show you that your business is appreciated. Great food in the restaurant with a great variety. Great salad bar, chrome shop, safe feeling here. I don't feel in danger walking around at 3:00 am like some other places. Locals here seem really nice too
Lounge? Only 3 chairs? And so far down you need a forklift to get out of them.
Laundry room, though only 2 of each machine, they are well priced.
