After losing all hope of buying a house in the area, Debra West was able to find a house in a few days. Once this was done, she did not stop working hard until the contract was signed. This experience was truly the best.
Debra represented the seller; we were the buyer. She not only didn't respond to essential questions concerning seller's disclosure, but she couldn't answer why the property didn't include some things she, herself, had written in the property description. The house was on the market for one day, and we were ready. We made an offer, the sellers countered which we, in turn, accepted. At this point, and since we asked for the sellers to pay closing costs, the agreed upon price was 4,000 above asking. Yes, the seller countered with an offer that was above asking by 4000 dollars, and we agreed - but the fully ironic and ridiculous situation was just getting started. It was at this point Debra makes the request that the buyer choose a local mortgage company because she has had some bad experiences in the past where the deal didn't go through. Talk about your situational irony. She accepted our contract and mentioned to our agent that the seller did as well; as a result of this agreement, she was extremely available and willing to take our earnest money and option period money too. Yet, when it came to her providing us with a seller signed copy of the contract for the finance company...well she couldn't quite get it to us. Then, Monday following a weekend where her sellers were apparently going to back out, and unbeknownst to us, she decides that the repeated requests for a copy of contract were too much to handle and finally told our agent that the seller was having second thoughts. Yes, you read that right; the seller rejected their own counter offer. Our agent mentioned that this type of game where the agent exercises opinion over non-represented party finance choice and the result of the seller, at one time, agreeing to an offer and then backing out of their own counter is unprecedented. After days of document collection and hours of debate, questioning, and prayer, Debra and 'her team' have pulled a most questionable rug out from under us. I get that the situation can be truncated, but the unprofessional behavior of this realtor has no logical support. As a sweet topping of irony on the cake, today the house was relisted for the higher than original asking and formerly agreed upon price. This clearly shows that the unprofessionalism that Debra West showed is only to be matched with the pride of the property seller.
Sent two emails, 2 phone calls, 1 voice mail, and 1 text message to never get a response about a rental property I'm interested in. Sure some people may have had a 5 start experience, but this is mine so far. Ridiculous....
